This is the first Model Horse, "Sharp Clay", owned by Corinne Ensor of Maryland. Click photo to view the finished product from several angles. |
Corrine started by getting together the photographs of the subject. Then she located artist Kristina Lucas-Francis that would custom glaze the brindle pattern onto the base model. |
Here is the model horse before it was customized by the artist. Click photo to go to the webpage of this model, and view it from all angles. |
The original sculpture was created by Carol Williams, an artist noted for her quarter horses, depicting a weanling colt and named Okie Rio. It was released in a resin version whose edition proved to be very popular among collectors! This colt was then created in a ceramic edition (perhaps numbering around 300 pieces). Additionally, some pieces were sold in plain bisque for custom glaze work, which is what "Sharp Clay" is crafted from. "Sharp Clay" is now for sale for $750.00. Contact Corrine Ensor |
